Happy 2012 !!! .. I hope everybody had a good time celebrating 2012 .. Its the new year and everybody usually have New Years Resolutions to start on a fresh slate for the year. I found this poll very interesting regarding New Years Resolutions --
According to a poll created by Opinion Corporation of Princeton, New Jersey:
- 62% of people make New Years resolutions
- 19% achieve resolutions every other year on average
- 49% have infrequent success
- 24% NEVER succeed and have failed on EVERY resolution EVERY year!
Since the beginning of 2012 .. I found there to be a lot of ads focusing on weight loss for the new year. As I work out in the gym .. there are constant fitness infomercials for people to get that "fast 6 pack abs" .. or to "slim down in just 30 days." It doesn't really work like that .. unfortunately. It requires dedication and a life style change.
I spoke to someone at my gym today and they said enrollment/traffic in January is the busiest month of the year .. but come February -- it will slow down. Some people think that having a gym membership card in their wallet is enough to keep accountable and committed ... but really it isn't .. Most of us need some sort of extra push .. whether it is trying to fit into that "S" shirt that you bought a year ago, someone to work out with at the gym to give you motivation, or just working with a personal trainer. For whichever reasons that keeps us going back to the gym -- we need to find that drive in order to work through it. This will keep us motivated, accountable, and committed to work through our fitness goals.

So everybody who made resolutions -- don't be that 24% that fail on accomplishing your resolutions every year!
2011 was a good year for me .. now I can focus on 2012!
Today I weighed in at 213.2 <-- Yes I gained a few pounds from my weigh in before vacation .. but I'm going to work on focusing on myself and to better my body!
Keep Your Head Up!
